Effingham County Commissioner Reginald “Reggie” Loper has been arrested and charged with child molestation and sexual battery.
The 84-year-old commisioner, from Springfield, is currently booked at the Effingham County Jail.
On January 9, 2023, the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to investigate allegations of child sexual abuse, which led to Loper’s arrest.
